I've been looking at their line of tea tree oil products online. I'd like to hear from those of you who have tried it. My skin is very oily and acne-prone. How has this stuff worked for you? I would appreciate any input before I purchase.
I love the stuff. They also have a great tea tree oil porduct line at Trader Joe's. I use it every day and it doesn't dry out my skin. It helps after sun burns, poison oak, alheltes foot, and excyma (sp) break outs. I live by the stuff. Been using it since i was a teenager.

Viola have you also tried taking evening primrose oil, also i have heard good things about VITEX drying up oilyskin and greasy hair. It's pretty cheap too!
I personally love body shop stuff, also alot of Avon products. Although for scented soaps and bath things i love LUSH but it's pricey so i only buy their stuff for pampering myself.....And hey every girl deserves pamering once in a while huh lol.

I used to use Body Shops Tea Tree Oil line, and loved it! It's so refreshing and the moisture gel is non greasy, and leaves a matte finish to your skin. I've used it all...face wash, spot treatment, the pure oil for blemishes, clay-type mask, moisture gel...I loved it all. The only reason I don't use it now is that the one Body Shop that's near me closed, and I've not looked for another one.

Be careful if you have sensitive skin! I tried it when I was younger (like 19) and it burned several layers of skin off my face in several spots! It looked much worse than the pimples! and hurt too! But I have never heard anyone else having this problem, so it could just be me!

I used to use their tea tree stuff, which smells really good, but it never helped me. Body Shops bath gels used to give me rashes...I love the smells but unfortunatly cannot use their stuff I use products from melaleuca.com and alternate between their facial wash and another brands...because the melaleuca can be very drying but clears the zits up!
The actual "tea tree oil" they have is not really just tea tree oil. I bought some recently and then discovered that. It has different alochols in it etc. It's not necessairly bad, but just keep that in mind. I've been using that the past couple weeks. I'm not sure it's doing much, but doing something is better than doing nothing at all.

I am with Sharon. I used the Teatree facewash when I was about 18 or 19 on my sensitive acne covered face and it burned my skin! It was horrible! I think I am allergic to it or something.

Is the tea tree oil the real stuff? My husband put that stuff on his bug bite because they got infected. It worked for him. However, my skin is very sensitive and I don't know if I could use it or not. Is it recomended for sensitive skin? I do love their peppermint foot care line. I use that all the time. It helps after a long stressful day at work!
I've used the tea tree products from the Body Shop, and they are quite good. However if you want to buy pure tea tree oil, don't buy it from the Body Shop - theirs is diluted. You should rather buy 100% pure Tea Tree Oil from a reputable aromatherapy shop or aromatherapist. Burgess and Finch is a good brand.
I worked in an aromatherapy shop for a long time, so I'm quite experienced in the use of tea tree. Tea tree works against acne primarily because of its antibacterial properties. Its an excellent disinfectant. Because it is a very harsh oil it also works by stripping excess oil off your skin. But be careful - this can make your skin dry. Its important to follow up any facial wash with a complementary oil free moisturiser, preferably from the same range.
As an aside, tea tree oil is excellent for disinfecting minor cuts and scrapes, as well as for treating wet eczema. For very inflamed or oozing pimples try putting a drop of pure oil directly on the area. Avoid the eye area! And try not to get any in your mouth - it tastes terrible.
I prefer Thursday Plantation products (http://www.thursdayplantation.com) to the Body Shop, as I find their stuff is more natural, and has fewer perfumes and additives, but I'm not sure if their products are easily accessible in the US. In South Africa their products are also significantly cheaper than the Body Shop.
