Boise, ID I just started seeing Dr. Richard Foulk at Idaho Center for Reproductive Medicine. I believe he will see women with PCOS even if they are not ttc.
I had my hormone levels tested in January of 2004, and 3 different OB's told me that the results were "borderline" and that I did not really have PCOS. For the past year and a half, I've dealt with unexplained weight gain, the inability to lose weight, acne, irregular periods, mood swings, weird hair growth, and infertility. Dr. Foulk took one look at those test results and said I absolutely have PCOS and should have been taking metformin for all of this time.
Avoid seeing Dr. Suzanne Anstine. She ignored my possible pcos and told me (during a vaginal exam) to go to weight watchers. It was really traumatic and made me feel like a complete failure, especially since i'd been dieting and exercising and had GAINED 4 lbs. She refused to acknowledge that there could be a medical explanation for that, and made me feel like it was all my fault. Dr. Foulk has given me so much hope!
Please, ladies in Boise, do not waste your time with an OBGYN. Go see an endocrinologist!! |
