Default Boxing Day Blues

Here I am at work on Boxing Day and wishing I was home in Canada so that I could have an extra day off from work after Christmas. I am thinking of trying to start a movement in the USA to incorporate Boxing Day as a Stat Holiday... it seems so weird to me to get just one day off from work for Christmas... *sigh* Some things about living in America I will never get used to...

Happy Boxing Day to All!!

I live in Canada and I am at work for boxing day (was for CHristmas day too- but I work in a shelter). It sure would be odd not to have an extra day off! I work in downtown Toronto and the streets were a madhouse with boxing day shoppers! There is no way I would go to the store today!

Anyway- Boxing Day greetings from the great white north!

Hey, I want shopping downtown on Boxing Day and got some totally amazing deals!! Found a suit at 75% off, two pairs of shoes at 50% off... It was busy, but not that bad in the stores that I went to. Boxing Day is my favorite shopping day of the year.

I hate Boxing Day cuz my DH works retail so he never gets it off. It hangs over us on Christmas Day because we have to make sure that we don't stay up too late so he can get up at the crack of dawn to get to work. I always get up with him and then see him off and go back to bed and cry cuz I miss him (pathetic I know). I know I would never have made a good military wife lol!

We braved the stores on Boxing Day. Mind you, the biggest one we went to was a Canadian Tire. No malls for us, thank you! I got a KitchenAid stand mixer for $50 off. Not too shabby, and the store wasn't all that crazy.
