Hi all! I am new to this board and wanted to introduce myself.
About me:
I am 30, married 7 months to my best friend, love of my life and partner in crime. I love my life!
About my syndrome:
I never had regular periods - that has probably been my most profound symptom. From the age of 12 until I was about 19, I never had more than 2-3 periods a year. I went on birth control for 9 years, and during that time my periods were more or less normal. In 2006, I got a blood clot on my portal vein (going into my liver). That was the end of BC for me! I found out as a result of that experience that I have an extremely rare genetic clotting disorder.
During most of my 20s, I had a mystery pain in the LLQ of my abdomen and had laporoscopic surgery to determine if I had endometreosis, which I do not. After my PCOS dx in 2005, the pain was attributed to that. I have tried Metformin to regulate my periods with limited success.
Currently, DH & I are TTC our first child, and we are working with a fabulous RE. We go back next week to find out the results of the preliminary blood work, sperm tests, and HSG.
Some of the other symptoms that I deal with are constant weight gain (and difficulty losing it), acne, dandruff, and a little excess hair on the sides of my face. Oh, yeah, and I have had cysts.
So that's me, in a nutshell. Hello everyone!
