Good morning ladies!
My name is Britt and I was recently diagnosed with PCOS. Blood tests came back ,"normal"...ovaries showed classic signs of the dreaded pcos. It took 3 years for a correct diagnosis. I'm sure many of you can relate! I start a regimen of Metformin ( Glucophage) and birthcontrol as of today. Nervous, and scared! I am concerned about my weight, it has gone from 145 to 190...trying to eat "correct" foods, ie: whole grains, sourdough, low GI fruits, lots of fresh veggies and an exercise regimen. Any suggestions out there??
welcome to sc i found that stopping wheat/dairy helped me lose weight once i found i am intollerant to them. here is a link to the diet/exercise section of sc for you
Hi everybody !! I am new ,just officially diagnosed this week { although i have known for years that i probably had it} I finally have insurance so I went to a nurse prat. who works with the new treatment options She juststarted me on 1000mg mtformin and 100mg spirolact.. My male gyno new very little knowledge about pcos,in 2003 after my cycles became more and more irregular and my weight shot up to 238,He put me on bcp and surprise i got pregnant !At 20 weeks I found out my baby had anencephaly and she would not survive .After much suffering and prayer I decided against abortion, I just could not do it.So I delivered her at 32 weeks .I was able to hold her and have a funeral ,so that provided comfort and closer to me .That was in april of 2005.My goal now is to lose weight{ dr recommended south beach) and get pregnant .Now I never tell anyone my weight {not even my husband} But i will share it with my new sisters, 255 ouch!! its painfull on so many levels !! i workout at least 4 times a week I follow the body for life plan {anyone else?} In fact that is how i came to the conclusion {again}something was really wrong .I went from no excersize to alot of exersize with no results !I know ,factor in muscle growth but no inches lost, come on.Anyway I am proobably writing too much ,but any sugestions on being brand new would help.Hey random Question does normal deodernt work on yall ?I wondered if that just me !One more, any sisters with big ole muscles?
