Default Brand Spanking New

Hello everyone.

I was just diagnosed with PCOS after years of frustration trying to understand why I haven't been losing weight, why I am so tired, what is this hair on my face/stomach/chin, and why is my hair thinning at the temples. It was the recent run of irregular periods that made me seek help. While my blood work was inconclusive, and my US showed up as normal, the symptoms along with my blood test convinced my endo to diagnose me with PCOS.
I'm 34 and want to start trying to get pregnant within the next year, so I am really hoping to start seeing results. Right now I am on metformin and nothing else until my follow up in December.
It's very encouraging to see such a vibrant helpful community.

Thumbs up Bleeding for 5 weeks..HELP ME!!! :O(

Hello, I am new to this and I already know that I have pcos, and the real kicker is since I am on state insurance currently at the moment it sucks because its not like you can just go right in and see a dr anytime you want, you have to wait. So here is what I have been through so far,

I went to go see a dr last thrusday, its been a week now, and well I have been bleeding and real heavy to where Im having to change a pad every 30- 1 hour. And its so discomforting. I went to the er about that last friday, about two weeks now, and well I have been bleeding roughly a month and very very heavy, and the er doctor just prescribed me bcp..and they worked for the first few days, but now its almost two weeks since i have been on them and well (two weeks tom) and I am bleeding so heavy now that evrytime I walk its just feels like I am peeing on myself. I know sorry for tmi, but its true. I wish it would stop. So its been about 6 weeks now since I have been bleeding nonstop, and Im going through package of pads a day now and I dont know what to do. The doctors dont even seem like they care.

When I was in the hospital they did some blood work on me and the er dr said that i have an underactive thyroid, and I wonder if this could be causing this. So, also when I went to go to see the dr last thurs they did some blood work on me and well I have to wait until oct 29 2009 til i find out the results or get any type of help pretty much. I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO, AND I FEEL THaT I AM BLEEDING TO DEATH NOW AND BY THEN I THINK I MAY BE DEAD OF BLOOD LOSS. (yes it sounds crazy, but im going crazy).

I dont have any insurance (meaning good to where you can see a dr anytime you want, i have state insurance) and well how do they expect me to live with this? Its so far away and I called planned parent hood and they said that they cant help me and im crying now and im an emotional wreck. If any of you ladies know what I am going through, or have evr dealt with this please give me some sign of hope.

I am waiting on some nurse prac to call me back monday of next week, but knowing my luck i bet that she wont be able to help me out.

I just want to be normal again.

Also, some other symptoms I have is leaky watery discharge from the nipple, (left side only) and saw blood to, but breast cancer doesnt run in my family, so i dont know whats causing that, and also have facial hair badly, i mean whole bearded and i have to use hair removal everyday...(can that be treated by meds to help stop if from growing?/)

as you can see im a whole mess....

any help would be appreciated.

I don't know anything about state insurance, but the doctor should not expect you to wait until October - this sounds serious. I would demand to be seen and if they aren't willing to work you in for an emergency appt., I would go to urgent care or the ER.
