Default Braun Silk-épil Easy Start - 3240

Has anyone used this?

http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html...t_adv_XSG10001

I saw it this morning at Target. If you have bought this, please share your opinion. How long does the hair stay gone? I remember years ago trying something like this that was sooo painful! Is this as painful as the older epilady? I am seriously considering buying this.

Hi! I've been using this particular epilator for the past year. I use it for my underarm area. For me, the hair stays away for about a week and a half and grows back softer. The first couple of times I tried it, though, it hurt like he**!

I saw this today at Target, and half considered it. I've had my legs waxed, so I know how much it would hurt--but could I do it to myself? My leg hairs are pretty dense, too, so would that make a difference?

Molanna,

I've tried this on my legs once and never went back to do it again because I was attacked by tons of in-grown hair afterwards.

I'm not sure if it would make a difference when the hair on your legs are dense. You can always give it a try. But OUCHIE! I stick with the razor for my legs! Good luck!

I have that EXACT ONE! I love it, and it doesn't even compare to the torture device of the original Epilady.

The 'easy start' head has fewers 'pull' thingys so there's less pain. I use the regular head, and it's totally tolerable.

I don't think I paid $70, however. I think I paid less.

I get in-growns at my bikini line from waxing, so I bet this is the same. My lower legs are only prone to one spot--right on my calve, and it takes FOREVER to heal!

Kat--fewer tweezers hurts less, but does it take a long time to do a leg or underarm? That's why I like getting it waxed--20 minutes and my lower legs are done! Give them 45, and bikini, entire leg, and upper lip all smooth!

Oh, that reminds me, does anyone use these on their face?

It might take you more than 20minutes the first time, but after that it's just touch ups....

I can deal with that. As long as it works. Does the hair grow back any finer? What areas do you use yours? I want it mosty for my legs, but would like to be able to use it on underarms and bikini area if possible. What about your face? I would love to be able to go longer without waxing my face.

The hair grow back VERY fine, so you only need 'touch ups' after that - and they're pretty painless.

I only use mine on my legs...LOVE IT!

Thanks for the responses. You have helped me decide to get one. I am going to try to get to Target today. I have looked at Wal-Mart and they don't sell it. I know it is a little pricey, but I will be saving money in the long run on razors and hair remover creams.

Janet, if you don't find it at Target, try Bed Bath and Beyond if there's one in your area. That's where I got mine. I also used one of their coupons so that sort of helped. Good luck! And thanks for the gift!! You're so sweet!

enits, thanks for the suggestion. I saw one at Target the other day, but never even thought to check at Bed Bath & Beyond. I have a coupon for there, so I will check there first. You're welcome for the gift. I appreciate your info on this product.

Thanks again for mentioning Bed Bath & Beyond. I bought the Braun silk-epil today! The price was $59.99, but with my 20% off coupon, my total was around $51.00 including tax. So I saved quite a bit on this purchase. I tried it when I had a little time earlier and it doesn't hurt too much. I mostly used the regular attachment and it's not so bad. I can tolerate it. It's not near as bad as the old epi-lady. The only complaint was from DH. He said it sounds like hedge clippers. lol

Thanks again for sharing your opinions.

I'm glad I was able to help save you a bit of money! LOL on your DH's comment about the silk-epil sounding like hedge clippers. I suppose in a way we use it to trim unwanted hedges and weeds on our bodies!
