hey,
I was just wondering if ppl out there have had a brazilian done and survived lol? i've been told its horrible but ppl do it so it must be ok? can anyone give me any advice on this???
I have not tried this personally but i have 2 friends that have...1 friend always fine..the other did it once and had a very bad rash down there and according to her it was not pretty as a matter a fact she said it was very ugly down there because of the break out. I guess everyones skin can react differently

Its fine. It hurt more to get my armpits waxed (and I'm not at the point where I can epilate those). Have painkillers or a glass of wine 20min before you go. It gets easier each time you do it and the results are FANTASTIC! The only reason I haven't kept it up is because I'm a poor student, but as soon as I get a full-time job, this will be back on my to-do list. Some of the positions they ask you to lie in are a bit embarrassing, but they lots of Brazilians and have truely seen it all. I just convinced myself that there were hairier fatter people in the world (which is likely true).

I get it done regularly. The first time hurts. Like YOW, THAT HURTS. But if you continue to get it done it hurts less and less. I barely notice it any more and I love the results...no stubble like shaving. Good luck!
Dont be nervous! I get Egyptians not Brazillans... Brazillans only do the front and i need the front and back! lol
Some tips:
-exfoliate before you go - to make sure the wax grabs it
-make sure the hair isnt too long, or it hurts waaaaay worse - trim to about 3/4-1inch long
The first time can be embarrassing. But if you find a professional, she won't make you feel weird about it!
My girl does the "rip and hold method"... lol. She yanks and then puts pressure on the spot. It HELPS SO MUCH I CANT EVEN TELL YOU. I dont know why but it does!!!
The worst part (of the whole thing - front AND back) is the top part... on the bone (if that makes sense)... Dont worry. It is literally 2 SECONDS... one thousand one, one thousand two and its over. Im super sensative and after the initial pull, I'm fine. No pain afterwards, not sore or tender.
Your hubby will be so happy! and i PROMISE, once you do it once, you will never go back. I cringe at the thought of shaving, razor burn, little infected hair bumpts EW.
The only thing i can say that is a little annoying is that in the 3rd week, when it is growing back, it itches like the devil. Two days and im itching like crazy....but its worth the two days to have 2 weeks hair free and 1 week soft stubble. HTH Good luck! xoxo

In New Zealand I've found that a Brazillian is the whole lot (but they ask if you want to leave a strip or not) and a French Bikini is just the front, and a 'Bikini' is the sides.

I never got any itching, but mine grew back all 'wispy', no stubble whatsoever.

thanks for all your feedback ladies!! I think i'm going to go and book in for the next few weeks, I'd really like to start down this road cos I think hair down there has started to feel uncomfortable for me. It makes me shy with my partner.
Februarystar- did u get urs done in Dunedin? Do you know anywhere good to go?
Yup, I went to Why Not Body (on Albany St), upstairs from Why Not Hair. It was really clean and really relaxing atmostphere.
A friend went to one I think on Hanover St. I'll hunt out the name of that because she said it was good too.
