Question Bread

Does anyone make their own bread?

I have been thinking of trying it! Atleast I could avoid all the additives.

ps. with my oven not bread machine.

If you want to make whole grain bread, the best book out there is The New Laurel's Kitchen Bread Book.

Apparently for completely whole grain breads there's a different proofing process because they absorb liquid differently than refined flours. This is the first cookbook where I've gotten light and fluffy bread without adding any refined flour.

For normal bread there are a ton of good books out. If you haven't made it before, I recommend getting one with step-by-step illustrations.

Making bread is SO relaxing. I love it.

Nicole, thanks for the tip on the New Laurel's cookbook. I have heard that they also have great vegetarian dishes too.
