Is anyone planning on breastfeeding their adopted child?
My sister is breastfeeding her daughter and I would like to breastfeed my child. It's very good for the baby and also promotes bonding between mother and child. I've been reading a lot about it and it is somewhat controversial, but it seems like it would be a great bonding experience.
Has anyone breastfed their already adopted child?

Hi Adrienne, me again. I am currently tosing this idea around myself. I have looked into supplemental nursing systems and have been reading TONS. I will look at what I have and PM it to you.

We never chose to go this route, however some folks do--and they do so successfully. Here's a site I was given some time ago when I was paperchasing for Emily. I still had it on my computer and found it for you. I hope it has good info on it for you.

When I was breastfeeding my DD (no she is not adopted), I used to get a catalog from: www.motherwear.com and the people that started the company have children both by adoption and naturally....and she breastfed ALL of them (I think it was 10 kids total). Anyway, I think they have info and a free catalog (clothes...mostly nursing tops and bras).
If I were to adopt, depending on the age, I would probably try it out.
