Everytime I post asking about cysters in the Okanagan, no one responds.
However with all the local area posts starting up, I figured that with no one responding in my area, I would try a larger area.
It would be for all the cysters in BC to remain in touch with others. So that we can be support for others, where ever we maybe in our PCOS journey. All those ttc, with kids, or without. It would just be nice to have others in our province, that can relate to our issues and concerns that we experience here in the Western province of BC.
I am 38 and just found out I am pg. Weird as I have tried for 20 years. I have 3 beautiful adopted children and now I am blessed with a pregnancy. Very happy. There is hope. Stay in touch!!!! I am here for support.
I have known about PCOS since I was 25, started meds at 29. They saved my life. Glucophage and Spironolactone.
That's great news lollipop. Lots of women here love to hear the happy ending success stories.
We are currently in the process of adopting #1 but our social worker told us we didn't have a chance in heck because my husband's standards are too high. I guess time will tell.
It's great to see someone else here form the Okanagan.
Thanks Lollipop!
We are adopting through MCFD. We have done our courses. Homestudy was complete. However we moved so our worker had to make sure that our new place is child friendly. Our worker gave us the thumbs up last week when she was here. So now we wait.
Both my husband & myself work in health care and had alot of info going in to a ministry adoption but what we were told at our courses is against what we knew. They dismissed all proven medical/scientific studies that we came to them with saying that we didn't know what we were talking about, so we were a little upset by it.
If anything comes up, I'll be sure to take you up on your offer of help.
I too am in healthcare. That is cool! I hope you aren't too discouraged. That is too bad you had the differences. Emotions sometimes take over. Things will work out. Stay by the phone, it will happen when you least expect it. Take care.
Thanks Lollipop!
We want to be optimistic but haven't had an easy journey to where we are today. Where abouts in the Ok Valley do you live?
I am smack dab in the cultural district of Kelowna. From my windows I see The Grand & the lake, to the left I see the library and downtown.
I am in Vernon. I was born in Kelowna and spend a number of years there. I also spent alot of years in Armstrong. So I am officially an Okanagan girl. Good to connect with someone so close. Take care.
Thought id jump in here! not a born and bread BC girl but moved about a Year ago to Surrey fromk the UK! I know theres a few other ladies from around here..Such a big province otherwise wouldnt it be great to have get togethers and things?!hmmmm

Hey Beetlegirl...
BC is nice very scenic compared to England! lots of greenery(sp?) which i love! I moved here a year and a month a go! hehe....yes still counting the days! i miss home alot as i dont know anyone from here that isnt either related to DH or his friends! Have a huge family in England all near by and we are a very close nit family so it feels weird being here and missing out on all the get togethers back home and stuff! Waited a year to get my permenant residency so was stuck at home unable to do anything (restrictions on my passport to work or study as i came on a vistor visa)but finally everything (apart from medical) is sorted now so im begining to feel like its more like home and not just a holiday! Im starting to apply for work at the moment and hopefully go back to school in the new year! have a normal life again and not one where all i see is the same four walls 24/7! hehe
