Question British Heart Foudation 3-day diet??

Hi all,

I have been away for so long, it's good to be back on this board!!
Anyway, I have a question: I want to lost those last 10 lbs that will not go away, and my endo recommended the so-called British Heart Foundation diet. It's a 3 day diet that claims to work by chemical breakdown (??!) and promises a 10lb weight loss. Now I am wary of all these quick weight-loss scam diets and looked it up and the actual British Heart Foundation says on its website that the diet has nothing to do with it. I'm confused that it would be recommended to me by my doctor!

Has anyone been on this diet? Does it work? Do you gain the weight back afterwards?

Any information welcome!

Thanks

I would assume your doctor was referring to the general British Heart Foundation eating guidelines rather than a specific diet plan. However, I am not sure that they would be suitable for PCOS anyhow since they are so high in carbs.

What plan have you been following till now?

Default 3 day diet!

Just thought this might help....

I did the BHF 3 dya diet a couple of years back. I thought it was great coz you only had to watch what you were eating 3 days a week the rest you could eat what you liked!! within reason of course... I have to admit the weight did just fall off me for once i had lost nearly 3 stone (thats 42 pounds!!!) in 4 months or so

however eventually you get sick of living on nothing but tuna etc lol and as i stopped doing it the weight pilled right back on again

I am no bigger than i ever was then and cant really face the thought of nothing but tuna again.

if you are wanting to shift the weight perminantly then this might give you the extra umph you need (all my family lost pounds on it) you do have to persevere and maybe look at long term habits and exercise too!

good luck and let me know how you get on with it

K.
