I do not remember the nic name in the chat room today but it was in the General chat room. The girl asked about spots or discoloration on the face. I dont know if this helps or not but I was just watching TV and there was a commercial on for that exact thing! They called it Melasma and it is caused by hormones being messed up, like if you had just been pregnant or started or gotten off birth control pills or hormone pills. Anyway, I thought about her immediately and decided to get back online and post this to try and help her. Whoever you are I hope you are able to see this and do some research on it. Since it is caused by hormones being screwy it sounds possible this might be what you have since we all know our hormones have minds and attitudes of their own!!!!! God Bless each and every one of you!!!! Pray for our country (US) and those of you who arent here please say a prayer for us anyway.

I am not the girl you had talked to in the chat room but I just wanted to add, that it can be caused by sun exposure over the years, not just hormones. My dad was a share cropper on a cotton farm growing up and he was exposed to sun daily through his childhood. He use to get this, the only thing that has helped him is using sunscreen faithfully on his face, after time it has disappeared as long as he is consistent about his use of the sunscreen.

I'm not the person you spoke to in chat either, but I had that problem for many years. It's fairly normal with pregnant women and is sometimes called Mask of Pregnancy. I had it pregnant or not. It's unpleasant. In my case, it looked like I only ever washed the middle of my face leaving it dirty around the outside and upper area of my cheeks. I still have it a little sometimes, but not nearly as bad. Isn't it wonderful the awful things a tiny hormone imbalance can cause??
