Question Bruising

Hi I was wondering if anyone goes through periods where they bruise very easily. I don't have it all the time, but every few months I find tons of bruises all over my body and I bruise very easily doing every day things. I don't know if this is related to PCOS at all but I haven't found a doctor who has been able to explain why this happens to me. The extreme bruising usually lasts for a few weeks and then goes away. Anyone have this or have an idea what could be causing it?

I'm going to suggest that you go read about cushing's syndrome (it has very many similar symptoms of PCOS). I remember one of the symptoms being that your skin can become skin and bruise *very* easily.

Maybe ask your doctor about Cushings?

I have always bruised easily since I was a child and I know that I don’t have cushing disease, I think that its just one of those things with me, my mother has the same problem too and she does not have PCOS.

But like Maudie suggested talk to your doctor about cushing just to rule it out.

I have those periods too. I'm actually having one right now. I woke up on Tuesday and I had bruises all over my legs and hips.

I don't have Cushing's, but I go through periods of time where I bruise very easily. I now take Grape Seed Extract with my multi vit and other suppliments every day and I don't bruise anymore (unless I whack myself good lol)

There is also another possibility. I also started to get bruises for seemingly no reason. I went to my Dr. She talked to me about the meds I was on and other stuff and decided that she found the source. I was on high levels of Ibuprofin 800mg 3 times a day for my back and joints and she felt that was what was causing the easy bruising. When I backed off the Ibuprofin some, the bruising decreased. Do you take alot of Ibuprofin or any other medicine that could act as a blood thinner? This could be another possible cause. I don't know if this is your case but it's what happened to me.

I hope that you can find some help in this area!!
