Question Bruising from Waxing???

Just wondering if anyone else had this problem: I had my arms waxed for the first time EVER today -- I usually wear long sleeves -- but now I have little purplish spots (bruises?) on the inside of both arms, extending from my thumbs up to my elbows (it's more concentrated at the elbow end). Does this sound like bruising from the waxing, or a reaction to the wax and/or lotion that they put on afterwards?

Sounds like bruising of the hair follicles . . . did you do it yourself or did you have it done. If you did it yourself I would be alot more gentle, holding down the skin as you pull away the wax. If you had it done, I wouldn't go to the same person next time.

ha ha... i have had this happen on my inner thighs. if you don't hold the skin taught... well, I think it is essentially like giving yourself a hickey, if you know what I mean. luckily, it wasn't an area anyone was likely to see... 'cept my now hubby who laughed his butt off.

I had my arms waxed about three years ago. My beautician about died because the wax would not come off (because of the inferior wax her salon was promoting). By the time she was done, I was black and blue. She was crying. Two weeks later, I went to meet my future in-laws. The first thing my husband said was "No, really Mom, she doesn't have a venereal disease". I about died.
