Angry Bummer

Have any of y'all gone over the normal 7 day menstrual cycle? I'm on day 15...been to the ER, they said call the OBGYN....haven't called the OB yet because I just moved to a new town and my old one is an hour away. The closest RE I can go to is at East Carolina University, which is about the same distant. I'm getting married this weekend and it's taken over my body....I'm going crazy! Not sure if this is my PCOS or my nerves saying to get a grip....any clues?????????

Help me!

Good luck

Angry Sorry to hear that

I once had AF for 16 days straight and very heavy.I called an obgyn and was told if it doesnt go away by the 20th day or get lighter, then i would go to the er and he would meet me there.Luckily it only went up to the 16th day.I dont really know what to say,but call an obgyn in your area and speak to a nurse and maybe they can get you in on and emergency visit.and give you something.Im sorry this is happening around your wedding day.I hope all goes well, and CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!

Default Advil can help

Sorry to hear this is happening to you just before your wedding. The same thing happened to me about 2 weeks before I got married as well. As the big day approached, I complained about it to my sister and she suggested that I take large doses of advil or any other kind of Ibuprofen. It works on smooth muscle, so it should help stop or slow down the bleeding.

While everyone reacts to medications differently, and I am certainly not a DR, taking 800 mg 3x a day helped. You might want to call your OB or RE and ask if this is an option for you. Also, please be aware that this won't solve the problem that is causing the bleeding, its just a way to get through the next few days.

Hope the wedding goes beautifully!

My last one was around for almost three weeks. I thought it would never end. Before I was diagnosed, I was spotting for a year straight and then went an entire year without it. I have no idea why my last one was weird, so I'm waiting to see what happens next week. My GYN wasn't concerned when I spoke to him last week.
