So, the other night me and hubby was laying in bed and I made a joke about his butt hair just being funny. Well, he then says "have you ever seen your hairy crack?" I thought "no" and after he went to work I started squautting over a mirror (lovely image I know). My, my, my my butt crack and back of butt is overly, overly hairy. My hubby says it doesnt bother him but now it bothers me. So, do any of you girls have hairy butts and if so what do you do to get rid of it. Goodness me..i cant believe i asked this.

First I must say congrats on your weight loss. You're doing great!!
Second, yes I have butt crack hair too. It bothers me but unless I got it waxed there's nothing I can do about it as I find shaving to be very irritating in that region. If I was brave enough I'd go and have it all waxed off but since I don't like how my cooter looks bald (I like the look of a brazilian, but definitely not on me because of the shape of mine) I put up with it the way it is. My DH is the hairiest guy I know so he is in no position to complain ;-)

I have it too, but couldn't be bothered doing anything about it because no-body sees it!!
Somewhere in another thread there was a midwife that posted about hairy butt cracks and she said she saw more hairy ones than smooth ones in her line of work! But she reckoned that women came in all variations of hairy in that region, and no-body ever batted an eyelid about it unless the woman was unclean.
yup, me too. i shave it (what a task, let me add!) when it starts to bother me, which is usually once a week. im sure, as with every other part that has unneccesary hair, the frequency will become more often one day. i spend more time shaving then my dh!!! i feel like such a sasquatch some days!
yippy!! I am not alone. I dont really care about my hubby seeing it but I wondered about my dr,etc. so the midwife information helped alot. How do you possibly shave that? I am so overweight I can barely wipe moreless shave...LOL LOL LOL okay I have become to open

Now I don't want to go shoving my beliefs down anyone's throats, but I don't think we can be too open... especially amongst cysters. I mean, where else can we talk about our butt hair and not get a blank look and a, "Your what now"? I think it's great we have somewhere to come and openly talk about such things and not feel alone and freakish any longer! Who knows how many people you may make feel so much better just by mentioning an embarrassing problem?
I'm starting to get the butt crack hair. I think it must be pretty normal for women past a certain age or Brazilian-type wax jobs wouldn't exist and be so popular, now would they? Mine isn't bad enough to think about removing yet, but I'll probably go the wax route (at home!).

this thread is cracking me up (no pun intended!)..it is so true that we can't be "too open" here, its wonderful to be able to talk about everything without getting embarr-assed lol and ya I too have it..actually I started getting it at a young age and just shaved it off, its not easy to do. Sorry if this is TMI (again I dont think there can be too much information here!) but I will lie on my back and put my legs over my head (or try!) and go to town with the razor. Sometimes I have used nair, but its hard not to try and get it in "extra" sensitive areas. most times I get really bad razor burn a few days after shaving that get uncomfortable from sitting and my thong rubbing up against the shaved area so I will go through periods of weeks without removing it. Someday I will try the wax..

Dana - you're right - this is the one place we can all talk and not worry about embarrassment!
Plus it helps to find out we're not some kind of freak of nature!
Kath
Exactly! Just think... we're just the girls who post. I know I lurked here for months before getting up the nerve to post, some never will, and some may never choose to. Just think of all of those women reading these threads thinking, "Shew! So it isn't just me!". It's a beautiful thing really!
And Nikki hon, I'm sorry but I kinda giggled when I tried to imagine myself getting into that "hair removing" yoga pose of yours Not with a razor, nuh uh! Now this TRULY might be TMI, but my partner is half Italian and, well, hirsute. He hates it and shaves everything. I usually try to help, but he's done this without me for years and sometimes I get a kick out of just watching the show with utter fascination. He doesn't mind
Anyway, the hardest part by far is the crack and his method sounds a bit easier than your yoga (especially with your Fibro! Oh!!!). He stands in the tub to catch any hair, kinda squats a bit to spread the cheekage, uses his left hand as a 'guide', and shaves along with his right. Schwoop, schwoop and it's done! It amazes me, to be frank. It's almost like performance art or something!
He would sooo kick my hairy butt if he knew I was telling this... but I don't think so really. He's shameless like me, and he feels badly for all we women go through with this danged syndrome. I'm sure he'd be especially sympathetic with the body hair... oh how he hates his! I knew we would get along just fine when on our first date I reached down and felt stubble on his arm Finally! A man who will understand! (I was a bit optimistic, but it worked out that way in the end)

lol Dana you are too much! That is funny about your hubby, I never understood why guys were self conscious about hair though since its "normal" for them in society..but then again I can see the other end of it where because of all the uppity views on being hairless might impact him. I also do my acrabatic feats when shaving lol, im pretty flexible..I work out a lot, I do pilates and yoga so it isnt hard for me, but its still annoying! especially when you cant see what you are shaving and you nick yourself!
