I know there are other threads for Byetta, and I've read them.
I'm thinking of bringing this med up with my doctor today. I have Type II and need to lose weight. My HA1C numbers have been "okay", in the 6 range, but they used to be 4.5 or so when I lost all my weight when first on Metformin.
Can anyone tell me what side effects to expect? How sick do you get on this? How hard is it to inject?
My ultimate goal is to get a better handle on my weight and diabetes so that we can begin TTCing again (after two m/c's this year). Is this drug worth it?

I just got a script for it today. The estimated cost is going to be $42.00.
I'd still love to hear any stories from women who are currently using Byetta.

It is so easy to take, a lot less painful than a finger prick! The only problem that I have is after taking the evening dose, I have to eat 30-45 min later because waiting an hour makes me feel tired and have nausea.

Okay, so I did the practice run w/ the Byetta, and only a tiny tiny drop came out....is that how much goes into me or is my pen/needle not working properly?

When you push it in Mindi it squirts so fast it seems you don't get much but you get the full dose I am thinking of going back on it I have a 10mg in the fridge still.
