Default Byetta - did it work??

My dr. just put me on Byetta. What side effects did you guys have? Is the result worth the side effects and the fact you have to give yourself a shot every day?

My doc just put me on Byetta (5mg) about two weeks ago, and upped it to 10 mg a few days ago. I don't seem to have any real side effects from this, but I do know that if I eat too many carbs at the meal I will feel nauseated. Just another way to keep the carbs in check. I am hoping that the Byetta will help with some weight loss, and the insulin resistance. I have about 30 pounds to lose and have not been able to despite myself, hoping this will help. I don't mind the shots - I have the pen and it's pretty easy. I used the larger needles when I had Gest Diabetes during my pregnancies and that was much worse. Keep me posted of your progress with the meds, and I will do the same....

My Dr. had me on Byetta and I lost about 40 pounds on it. I noticed that it really did cut my appetite.

I just found this forum when I googled "PCOS + Byetta". I am so interested to hear what you all have to say. A friend mentioned Byetta to me and I would love it if it actually worked. Looking forward to hearing what you all have to say

Default another question

My doctor has just told me that he is going to put me on Byetta. He mentioned the nauseousness. Is it bad? I have also felt kind of nauseous when I don't eat in the morning, etc. Kind of like that?

Add me to the list of Byetta users. Maybe we should start a dedicated Byetta thread?

i have been in byetta since last monday
with no side effects
i am very large and have never been able to lose weight
i have finally started to lose when he diagnosed me and started me on met .
he seems to thing someone my size could lose up to 10 pounds a week in the begining
and i don't mind the shots at all. i was scared too but i hardly feel them
good luck all
and i would love byetta to have its own board.
