Default Byetta - gaining weight

Hi everyone,
I'm e newbie, but have been lurking a bit. just wanted to share my recent Byetta ecpereinces and see if anyone has some more insight for me.
I'm 38, PCOS for 8 years. Have 3 wonderful Clomid kids. I initially lost about 35 lbs on Met 1000mg, spironolactone and fanatic excercise.
In the last 6 months, it has all come back despite continuing the same regimen.
I couldn't increase the Met because of side effects. Tried Avandia, but didn't help. Tried Meridia, no help.
3 weeks ago, my endo put me on Byetta 5 mg two times a day. with Met 500mg
Initially, I got really nauseius, especially with milk. That has settled down a bit, I have a little bit of the full feeling that others are describing. Now I am getting pretty severe acid indegestion. popping the tums. also more irritable. i could probably tolerate those, except i have gained about 5 pounds since starting the med. a couple of questions...
do the side effects get better?
is 10 mg much more effective than 5?
does it work in everyone or just a small percentage?
I am taking it 45 min prior to eating, is this the best regimen?
any other thoughts or suggestions?
thanks

he had mentioned the bigger dose, but I am unsure if i want to continue with the med given total lack of effect and side effects. for the rest of the month i think i will stick it out and see what happens. hopefully i will get used to it and maybe then we can increase the dose
