My new dr. just took me off Lantus. I am type II diabetic with hypothyroid as well. I am wondering how this combination has helped in weightloss with everyone?

Is there anyone who was taking byetta and actos and actually lost? I've heard actos causes weight gain. Just wondering if they work against each other.

Also, I was once on Glucophage and had AWFUL GI issues with nauciousness, diarreah, you know, the works. It was bad. I'm very concerned about glumetza and byretta together making me sick sick sick.

How are you all doing on it?

I'll also be working with a bariatric dr. with a HIGH protein diet weightloss program due to the issues with the sluggish thryoid and all the medical issues I have, both dr.'s and myself thought it best to take a more aggressive approach before things get worse.

Any personal experiences you've had, wisdom, and or encouragement would be greatly appreciated.

I didn't have any luck with Byetta I tried it with Met and all, but that's not really typical from what I've heard. Of course I tried Byetta alone as well because the combo was making me very very sick, and the Byetta alone was causing nausea and stuff even after lowering my dose.
Just wanted to respond and tell ya to keep your head up!!!!

I have been on Byetta since April at 10 mcg 2x daily. i love it! I've lost 24 lbs and I am not on any other meds. I make sure that I take my doses at least 7 hours apart otherwise I get terrible motionsickness dizziness. (the nurse actually said it would be like morning sickness but since I have never had that I wouldn't know what it is like and can only relate it to motion sickness)

Awesome. Gives me hope. I am going to ask to get back on Avandia in combination though. I'm am FAT on actos and I've only been on it for two weeks. It's awful!

Thanks for the heads up on byetta though. whats your doseage?
