I just started Byetta today. When I inject it, I see a tiny drop of it on my skin. Is that OK? Or am I not getting it in my body?

I hope it is okay cause the same thing happens to me. Like a little tiny bit is at the injection site once the needle is pulled out. The pen clicks so I assume I am getting the full dose.

I have been leaving my needle in for slightly longer, and I think that solved it. I wait a good, solid 6 seconds before removing it, and no residue is there. So I think I was just not getting it all under the skin, before.

Also, since making the change, I have noticed that I am not thirsty all the time...so I think it is helping.

Yes, be sure to leave the needle in your skin for at least 5 seonds. I always did 10, just because I'm weird like that.

i also leave the needle in for 10 sec. post injection just b/c i'm slightly anal- i want to be sure i'm getting all of the medication. BUT- since changing to the 10 mcg pen a week ago i am noticing a tiny drop of medication on the tip of the needle despite proper injection technique. i'm not sure if this is just a pen issue- i can push down on the plunger even after it's clicked all the way and make some liquid come out.
