Unhappy C.P.A.P Misery

My dear Sweet LOVING Husband has given me a head cold. I have read here that other cysters also have sleep apnea & I'm hoping for some advice... I have about 3 hours till daycare opens & I can go to the hospital. First some basic info... My nose has gotten very sore on the outside from a constant runny nose, thats no biggy I can deal with that with vasaline. Unfortunetaly the inside of my nose is also very sore from the C.P.A.P (non-apnea cysters, it is a machine that blows pressured air through my nose to keep me breathing through the night). I can't take a decongestant because I am also taking anti-depressant ( they nullify each other) but have been using Otravin. That stuff HURTS I am so sencitive inside that it burns. Now, the otravin opens the passages enough for me to sleep for a few hours... but my nose is so raw now that I can't stand the pain. Every breath hurts, when I am awake I can breath through my mouth but that curssed C.P.A.P is nasal!!!! It feels like someone is using a very big double sided BBQ wire brush in there! I tried for 10 min a little while ago & tore it off sobbing the pain was so intense... (it don't help that crying hurts too!!). I have been using a saline spray to help moisterize in there but it only reall works for a few minutes. I am hoping in the hospital they can stick a tube down my nose & tape my nosterals shut so I can bypass the irritated tissue. I am praying they will do this & am considering sitting in the hall till they do lol. So I'm sorry this has gotten so long I guess I nedded to rant a little I'm very tired. Any advice?

Opps forgot I took 2 t3s 45 min ago & am hoping they will help, but doubt it

I'm sorry I don't have any advice, but I just wanted to say that I hope you feel better soon!

I'm sorry I hope you feel better soon! I know my mom has a CPAP and she doesn't use the nose clip thing, she has a special thing that goes over her mouth/nose kinda like in an air raid or something. I would see if you can get something like that rather than the nose thing. It could be different though b/c she has an oxygen consentrator hooked up to hers.

Good Luck!

Thank you both for replying as for the mask I cant really aford a new face mask right now (I not sure how much the full face mask is but the nose mask is $141+) & I am so used to the nose mask I can't sleep with my mouth open anymore... + I clench my teeth in my sleep. I saw a dr in the hospital & he gave me some antibiotics... they seem to be helping (they should they were expencive enough) & I have been sleeping for most of the day. My husband tried a few times to wake me up... to see if I was ok & tried to get me up for supper I just told him I wasn't hungery & rolled over LOL. The pain is MUCH better but I have been taking T3s every 4 hours or when I wake up. My DH finally woke me saying that it was my turn to put my DD to bed. I ate enough to take my met & I am trying to stay awake for another hour so I can take my effexor (CAN NOT mix them I if I do). *sigh* some times I hate my pills but life is soooo much better with them. Ok I'm rambling now cus the T3s are zoning me out. TTY L8R

I'm glad the dr gave you some meds! I'm surprised insurance wouldn't pay for it. My mom could have never afforded it but insurance paid for hers. She doesn't sleep w/ her mouth open either but she was hurting w/ the nose mask so the dr gave her the face one.

I hope you feel better soon!
