Default THE CALL

THE CALL : BY TERRA

TODAY I GOT THE CALL,
THE ONE I DREADED,
THE ONE THAT MADE MY WORLD FALL,

THEY SAY YOU HAVE TO GO,
FOR HOW LONG NO ONE KNOWS,
SO OFF YOU GO TO A PLACE UNKOWN,
WHEN WILL I SEE YOU AGAIN,
GOD ONLY KNOWS.

HOW DO I MAKE MY HEART STAY STRONG,
WHEN ALL OF THIS FEELS OH SO WRONG,
THE WEIGHT OF THE WORLD ON YOUR SHOULDERS,
THE SHOULDERS THAT USED TO BE MINE.
I HAVE TO BE STRONG DON'T YOU SEE,
HE CANNOT AFFORD TO WORRY ABOUT ME.

A WIFE LEFT BEHIND, NO ONE CAN CONSOLE,
ONLY WHEN HER SOLDIER RETURNS,
WILL SHE ONCE AGAIN BE WHOLE.

This is a beautiful poem and one that is all to true in these times. My younger sister herself is facing the same thing. She and her fiance just got engaged and he was informed today that they submitted his papers ( he was in delayed entry) and he should plan on being ready to go the end of march for basics. So now, they've put the wedding on hold until they know more....

Well I'll keep your husband and you in my prayers. May it be as easy as it can be for you, which I know it won't be easy at all but just keep in mind we're all here for you when it gets hard. Big hugs....

Unhappy Our heros

My DH is also military....although I have been lucky enough that he is still right here with me....he was gone after the Sept. 11 attacks though, and at times I felt I would die without him here...it does get easier...and you are right, they have so much to worry about, without having to worry about us....that is what I told myself so I wouldn't fall apart every time I hears his voice...
They are heros....our heros.....maybe more than they will ever know
