I haven't really frequented this forum a lot lately, and now that I am back, I've noticed a lot about reputation points and the "Ribbons and Gifts" thing at the top of the page. I was just wondering what the heck is all that about? If someone could explain this to me, I would be very appreciative.

I, for one, never understood the whole 'rep points' thing. Especially when people's feelings get hurt when people send annonymous hateful stuff. (it's happened on here recently) It just seems a little high school mentality for me. So as much as I appreciate the rep points I've received with the nice comments, I've never handed any out. Actually I'm not too sure HOW to.

The gifts is a nice idea. I've given out a LOT of those, to posters who have helped me through a hard time, or if someone's having a hard time... just a little extra "thinking of you" kind of thing. If you look up on the top of the page where your USER CP is, there is an option for ribbons and gifts. Clicking that will show you points in your bank and then you can "buy" gifts and ribbons for other soul cyster members. That, I think, is fun!

To give rep (aka karma) to a cyster:

Click the scales at the bottom left-hand side of their post.
Its between the online/offline status icon and the red shield to report a bad post.
A pop-up box will appear and there you may type in any comments you wish.
