Default Called the dr.

I called the pharmacist and asked her about my joint pain with met. She told me I needed to call my doctor.

So, I called my doctor (who apparently closes at 4:30) and talked to the answering service. He is having the doc call me back.

I really don't want to go off of met. I was really hoping that this would be the thing to help me.

I'll update when the doctor calls me back.

I know that makes you angry.I hope you don't have to discontinue the Met if it is helping you.If it is the Met maybe they can change to Avandamet.I have tried Avandia and it made me swell and bloat BUT.....I got AF right away with this. With the Met I am on now, which is just Metformin HCL,it is alot different.
How long have you been hurting?Have you tried Ibuprofren?

The dr didn't call me back. So I had to skip the met tonight.

I'm not happy right now, that is for sure.

I've been taking met for only 5 days. It has pretty much made my joints hurt from day 1. The pharmacist acted like this wasn't "normal".

I can take the pain...and advil works just fine for me. But, I'm worried about lactic acidosis. Is joint pain and indicator of this? It scared me when the pharmacist said I needed to call the doctor.

I'm really upset. I didn't get a call back from the doctor yesterday, so I skipped the met last night, figuring that I could talk to him today and start on it again tonight.

I called the doctor's office this morning and spoke with a nurse who said that my doctor wasn't in, but she'd ask another doctor and call me back.

She called back and said that the other doctor didn't want to give me advice on this and I'd have to wait until tomorrow to talk to my doc. Until then, I am not allowed to take met.

I'm really bummed right now.

HI

aww ((hugs)) doesn't it drive you mad when all you want is a simple answer??
Is there anyone else you could ask for advice? Over here we have a free phone advise centre. Well, you pay for the call..... don't know if that's around by you.

Hope you get some answers soon.
((hugs)) Eva
