hi all my names emma bull,

and please say if you think this is a bad idea but after reading about the pcos campain 2005 starting in the USA through this fantastic site i thought the uk could do with a bit of shaking up in the pcos awarness department!!!!!!!!

many of us after years of not knowing what was wrong with us have been diagnosed with pcos!!

lets in conjunction with the USA awarness campain start our own revolution!!

and click on printables link and print if you can leafets and cards to hand to your GP'S SURGERY or LOCAL HOSPITALS and GYNE DEPARTMENTS so our undiscovered soalcysters can find this site and gain the support they need!!!

LETS GET PCOS AND THIS SITE ON THE MAP AND IN THE PEOPLES MINDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if you can help post on this thread what you have done and who you have sent the infomation from the printables too!!!!

i'll join in. i was thinking of doing this anyway. i've contributed a lot to the campaign already, and was thinking it would be beneficial to spread the word here, too.

i don't have a tv though, so i don't know who we'd send cards and stuff to. if you have a better idea of that, i'd join in, or help head things on this side of the ocean.

I looked at the campaign thread but being here in the UK wasn't quite sure how I could contribute.

I think it's a great idea to start up a UK campaign - sending postcards to magazines and talk shows etc. would be a great start as well as putting leaflets in Doctor's surgeries etc. - though I'm not sure how accepting some would be about that

Good Idea!

We did something like this a few years ago, so try a search, although chances are the threads will no longer be here. I know there was a huge list of contacts for TV, magazines etc. There was even a segment on Watchdog, which everyone watched and then emailed in - I know the following week they said they'd been overwhelmed by the response.

I love this idea so much! I wanted to start something like that over here but I dont have a clue how many Irish cysters there are here.

I like the email idea of sending an email to everyone in our contacts and asking them to pass it on. I was going to send it at the weekend but wanted to find out some PCOS statistics here in Ireland or worldwide as the only stats we have are the american ones.

I like the idea of us sending out the postcards too....not sure where we could send them here though as I know there arent many irish chatshows....unless things like morning tv or something like that.

I like the idea of what the US cysters are doing, targetting a different magazine every week and innundating them with postcards!

If we can come up with a list of magazines we want to target, it should be easy enough to get the contact details from the editorial credits. Newspapers, too.

Hell, we could even go for TV, too!
