I desperately need you girls' help! I am looking for a good Work at home job. I need to be able to work at home, but I am having terrible trouble finding a good one. The only thing I am finding is scam after scam after scam. For the last 6 months I have been praying and hoping that I would find a great work at home job, but I havent found one. I have looked everywhere! I was wondering if any of you girls happen to be Work at home moms or if you just work at home. Do you happen to know of any companies that are great work at home companies, or that will hire people to work at home. I have great communication skills, clerical skills, and can type 64 WPM. All of those would be good skills to be hired, but I just cant find any companies that are worth applying for! PLEASE GIRLS! PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!! Whether it is by some info on a great company or just by your prayers! EITHER ONE WILL BE GREAT.....BUT PLEASE HELP!
April

Hi April. I just posted about the company that I work for (over in the Getting To Know You forum). Here's the link http://www.soulcysters.net/showthrea...threadid=63019 if you want to read through it. The company is called Live Ops and you can apply online at their website www.liveops.com.
Live Ops has been a godsend for me. They are totally legit. Please PM or email me if you want more info.
Great idea, working from home! I'm wondering, have you ever thought of working entirely for yourself? I mean, not within any company?
I work full-time from home and actually have several "jobs"--I teach music two days a week to private students (I have 20) and also work designing quilt projects for magazines etc.
Think about your giftings and tap into something you could do on your own. Here are a few ideas:
*Can you teach or tutor something? (baking, maths, typing, organisation, music)
*Can you offer a service that others appreciate but don't have time to do? (ironing, home baking, cleaning, etc)
*Can you contract yourself out to home-valuers and the like, to type up reports for them? Perhaps just advertising your secretarial skills will provide you with jobs from a variety of sources. Maybe you could proofread or something like that?
Thank you two for your help! I am going to look at the link you posted flutterby...and butterflygal....yes I have thought about doing some of those things, but I live in a relatively small town and I dont think I could make much money doing that. I have seriously thought about contracting for myself with typing and stuff, but I dont know how to get started. I LOVE to write. Writing is my talent and gift from God, but what I mostly write is poetry and I have tried and tried and tried to find something to do related to that and cant find anything. Thanks again girls for all of your help....and thanks to anyone who responds after I post this.

This is long, so grab your cup of coffee and get ready to read.
My DH is a graphic designer and works from home. He uses a book called, "Artist's & Graphic Designer's Market" for prospecting. He's contacted companies all over the world. The book lists everything you need to know to "break into" the market along with tips on portfolios, interviews with people already in the market and they finally started listing email addresses and web sites of the companies. The web sites are good because you can check out the company and see what they're all about before you contact them. Since I'm into photography and writing, I use the "Photographer's Market" and "Writer's Market" books. The books are updated every year. Since it's close to the new year, I would suggest looking into the 2004 version as they can change dramatically within the year. It's a valuable tool if you're serious about writing from home. Your local library should have this book. I've noticed that my library carries prior years but won't carry this years book until next year...they stay a year behind with these. I haven't a clue why though.
If you follow this link, you can look inside the book from Amazon.com:
This next link is for a website that offers free writing courses and for a fee, private tutoring. A friend just sent it to me a couple days ago so I haven't had a chance to start taking the courses. I did look into it and plan to start the courses after I move. What can be better than free????
You can go to www.writersmarket.com, which is a fee for service website. I also checked "2004 writers market" on Google and had over 101,000 hits. No, I didn't check all of them out. Do your research and you will be able to work from home doing the very thing you love to do. HTH!
Good luck and if you need help reasearching, let me know.
Merry

I don't know why the Amazon link didn't work either, but I nioticed that if you click it, it'll pull up a few market books and give you links to them. One of the books is "The Christian Writer's Market Guide", which was very interesting. Seeing that reminded me that there's also a company called "The Christian Writers Guild".
