Your thyroid numbers look normal. From what I've read, your insulin number indicates that you are insulin resistant. Check out this link:

Your testosterone is high, which is a PCOS symptom, and you haven't ovulated recently. Where are you at in your cycle? These numbers are relative to that as well.

Why did they run your lab results? Are they trying to diagnose you?

I was also diagnosed based on high testosterone. I've been on Metformin for 2.5 months. I was retested after 6.5 weeks and it went down from 121 (total testosterone) to 83 (75 is normal range). High testosterone will prevent you from ovulating.

Your insulin is also high which signals insulin resistance. Insulin resistance actually causes increased testosterone. Going on Metformin will likely help with those numbers.

Typically they would also test your LH and FSH as a measure of PCOS severity and also to know your ovarian reserve (quality of your eggs).

However, based on these numbers, and the fact that you havent had a period in 3 months, the odds are that you do have PCOS.

There are meds and options for women like us so dont let it get you too down. Just read as much as you can so you gain knowledge about how to treat it. It took me like 5 months to really understand it and in that time, I wasted a lot of precious trying to conceive time.

Good luck!

I came here looking for something I could take to my doctor's appointment on Monday as well. Boy, was I disappointed when I find out that most of the things they checked for should have been checked on Cycle Day 3. When is that? I too have problem with skipping AF even though I have been faithful with taking my Met.

I want to discuss various remedies for hair loss with my new doc. Seems like what my old doc had me on is not doing the trick.

I called my doc's office and asked about hormone testing ... they went ahead and drew the extra blood but for all I know the doc could veto the tests ... grrr! This is confusing!

Um ... I know that, but I don't know when the last time that was ... and I assume my doctor knows when these tests are to be done, so since nobody asked me anything about my cycle, I have a sneaking suspicion that I will walk in there on Monday and find out that the tests weren't done.

Oh I see. They can do them even if you are induced by provera, so maybe ask for some so that you can get your cycle and have a more accurate test.
