Default Can anyone recommend an opk

I've been doing temps for a couple of months and thought that I'd add opk in as well to gove a few more clues. I've seen some in Boots and Tecos (but not checked prices). Are there any particular brands that you'd recommend? How much are they and were do you get them? Are they any good with pretty irregular af? (Its getting better since i've been taking herbs but I'm still learning about what sort of pattern to expect have been vvv irregular in the past). My cycle seems at the moment to be about 50-60 days so I was just going to test after about 30 days. Would that work? I know this is v ttc ish but I wnated to make sure that I could get the opk in the uk.
Thanks
Amanda C

I used Clearplan. the results were easy to read, but they are expensive (£20 for 5) When you have an irregular cycle you get through A LOT!! I have seen me spend £60 in one cycle. I also used Boots ones that came in a pregnancy planning pack which also had folic acid tablets, 5 OPKs and a HPT - that cost £29.99. I tired first response, but found them difficult to read - I didn't like them at all.

To be honest the best way to tell if you are ovulating and when is to chart - I still used OPK's but only as a kind of verification. I really recommend the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler (look in the ttc forum - it's the bible!!) and you can tell when you O from the signals your body gives you. Also you can chart online at www.fertilityfriend.com and it will help sort out the glitches in temps. I don't know if you're doing that already.

Good Luck!!!

I use Boots own brand OPK which cost £17.99 for 5 tests. If your cycles are long and irregular, I would recommend temping too. Boots also sell digital thermometers. It can be really hit and miss at first until you get used to charting. Your cervical mucus is a good indicator of impending ovulation as it becomes clear and stretchy. You should be able to see it on the toilet paper when you wipe. Any time you see that kind of mucus, get busy in the bedroom!!

Best of luck!!

Default Thanks

I've been to Boots and got their own brand OPKs (and as a bonus they gave me £5 voucher for makeup but that was just for today). Now I just have to O. I have been temping but not sure that I've been using a BBT termometer so I might have to go back to Boots. The OPK was a bit of backup. Until recently I've only experienced the hi-tech approach so this is all new.

Thanks Amanda C

Default Info!

Just to post about a UK site that does cheap basic OPK and HPTs:

http://cnb-host3.clickandbuild.com/c...dCategoryID=12

Another one is on something like www.saveontests.com, I think it is an American company, but it ships stuff all over the world.

I haven't looked at either of these for a while, but I think that they both do fertility thermometers also. Boots does have digital fertility thermometers, but they only come in a kit with a bunch of other stuff like folic acid, booklets, a few OPKs and I think a HPT too. Hope you find the info useful!
