Default Can diabetes cause gum problems?
We are waiting for blood test results on my DD. Her gums are quite sore and red. She brushes/flosses daily and always has. Dentist didn't offer much help except to brush and floss. This seemed to happen quickly and I was wondering if sugar levels could be the cause. She has never been dx with diabetes but its been a couple years since she has been checked. Any thoughts would greatly be appreciated.

yes.
that was one of my first signs of blood sugar issues.

I was going to the dentist every 3 months with no improvement
so my dentist recommended I go get some bloodwork.

Thanks Amy for your response. Hopefully we will find the reason when we get blood test results. Did your gums settle down quickly when you got your sugar levels under control?

yes they did settle down alot
they used to bleed and be irratated constantly
that doesnt happen anymore
I'm back to the regular six month check ups now
