Default Can going on and off the pill make PCOS worse?

I was on the pill for years (at least 12). I went off once for 6 months, and had no change in my PCOS symptoms. They were generally minor anyway. I went off again last January when I wanted to get pregnant, and I started breaking out like crazy, and it didn't stop. It got a little better towards the end of my pregnancy. Now I'm 6 weeks post partum, and considering the pill again to help with my skin, regulate my cycles, and for birth control, but I remember reading somewhere that going on and off can make things worse. Is this true?

I don't know, sorry. But I would be interested in hearing what anyone else has to say about this, because I am worried about my symptoms being really bad when I go off the pill to TTC.

I was on BCP for 9 years (straight after dx) and went off them about 18 months ago for a break. Im not TTC. The first 6 months were fine but then everything fell apart. I started gaining weight, bad skin, hair started coming in places it should never be on a woman - my body went out of control. I had no idea about the IR link at that stage but I sure do now! It's been 10 months now and inspite of doing all the right things, Im not seeing *any* improvements in any symptoms. I'm giving it another 10 days and if there's still no change, I'm going back on BCP. This time I'll continue the Low GI diet and excerise as well though.
