Post Can GP raise met dose?

Hi all,
Have been on met AT 1000mg/day for nearly two months and still no AF. Would really like to try 1500mg/day as that seems to have been effective to more people. It was my gyn who originally put me on met but it was prescribed through my GP. Does anyone know whether my GP will be able to raise the dose or does this have to be done through the gyn? My next gyn appointment is not until June 19 and I can't bear all that wasted time!
Hope someone can help!
xxxx

hi there!

just to let you know..that my gp had prescibed my met...without me seeing any other sort of consultant!!
i went to her asking for met..and she prescibed it..however like you i am still on 1000mg..and no af...and i shall be moving up to 1500mg this week...i have had liver/kidney function tests..and blood sugar levels checked regularly by her...the last time i was at any sort of clinic fertility being the last one...was 8 years ago!..so yes a "normal" gp can prescibed and up doseage!
