I have been skipping somw doses because I have been having real upset stomage and felt like throwing up after U take my meds I am on 2000 each dose. I have been having irrg. AF ever since my M/C does this irrg. AF cause by the skipping of doses?

Hi,

I am so sorry to hear about your miscarriage.

I think your irregular AF is probably from having PCOS not from taking metformin.

Have you thought about decreasing the dose and then slowly, very slowly increasing it. I also had a lot of stomach upset which did eventually lessen. Also, if I eat certain foods (mac n cheese, pizza...), I get really sick.

When you take metformin with certain foods it can make me sick. I skip dosages all the time because I forget to take them. It throws my body off, I get headaches. Does anybody know if what happens if you skip dosages?

I've skipped dosages if I'm going to be drinking or consuming foods I enjoy and don't want to be tortured about, like at Thanksgiving. It definitely throws my body off. When I'm on a consistent schedule I feel much, much, much better.

Are you taking 2000mg all at once? If you are, that in itself can mess you up. Met for most (not all) will help regulate your cycle. If your not taking it regularly then your cycles may be screwy. You need to split your met accordingly, like maybe 1000mg in the morning and 1000mg at night. Get a pill box that will help you remember to take them.
You need to keep track of what foods you eat that make you sick so you can try to avoid those or eat less of them.
