Question Can I do this with Provera?

If I'm trying to stop AF, can I start taking the Provera that was initially prescribed to start it? And if I do that, how long will it take for AF to stop?

I started this month on my own two days ago - have to go out of town tomorrow and want it gone by then!! Will the Provera work? Any other suggestions? Can't take BCP's due to high blood pressure.

I know Provera can be taken to stop bleeding in some intances, however if you have taken it to start AF i would just allow AF to run it's course and try and get your cycles back on track. I think by taking it to stop AF it would take longer anyway to work, maybe a few days at least. It is used to stop bleeding in cases where people get AF for weeks at a time, so if this is just a normal AF now that you are having then i can't imagine it working anyway.
Not completly sure tho, maybe someone else can give you a clearer answer

Hmm... I'm not so sure that I would try and stop AF or not - especially if in the past you have had to take it to get an AF. It sounds as tho your body my finally be getting back in the swing of things and that's part of your goal - right? Now, up until this month I would have to take Provera to stop AF (I have/had LONG bleeds) and I'll admit that I did keep a few extra pills so that I could stop AF whenever I wanted to (i.e. going out of town) but now looking back on it - I feel as tho it wasn't the smartest thing I could have done - my hormones were wacky enough and I wasn't helping them any.

But... in the end - the choice is yours
