I'm still waiting for my results from the dexamethasone test, and another 24 hour urine test.......my appointment isn't until the end of this month.

I don't know how much more I can take, some days my blood sugar is wildly out of control no matter what I do, and all my other symptoms just keep getting worse as time goes on.

God help me.

I'm wondering if I might have Cushing's disease.

When I was little I had to take a lot of steroid treatments for asthma. I was having attacks like every 2 to 3 months and had to be hospitalized everytime. My asthma only got better when I was like 16.

I have high blood pressure and my periods have stopped, but I was just diagnosed with PCOS so that could be it too.

As soon as I get some insurance I'm going to find out.

I am trying to get in to see the endocrinologist because I feel that I should be tested for Cushings but I have no ins at the moment. The LPN I see did a test for cortisol levels and my night levels came back so high that they siad I must have used some hydrocortisone cream or something during the tests - BUT I DIDN'T!! She wouldn't give me another test but was convinced that I needed to take hydrocortisone pills since my morning levels were low. I took them for one week - couldn't get out of bed and missed the whole week of work.

Also, my testosterone was low but I have lots of extra hair.

All my weight gain is in my middle and upper limbs but my lower limbs at skinny. I wish I could show you the difference it's really weird. It's like the fat just stops at my elbows and knees.

I'm in pain all the time and so tired. My 12 year old daughter was diagnosed with PCOS recently, by the same LPN, and she has insurance so I am going to take her to the endocrinologist to see what they think about her and maybe I can find out something about me this way too. Good luck to everyone.

Please don't see that LPN again. She shouldn't be assuming that you used hydrocortisone cream during your test if you told her that you didn't. And she definitely should not have given you hydrocortisone if your tests came back saying your levels were high at night. Your test result is a classic sign of Cushing's. If she doubted the accuracy of the test, you should have been retested, not given a prescription for hydrocortisone. I'm so appalled at what she did, she could have put you in the hospital.

I'm not sure what you mean that you don't have an IN with an endocrinologist. I'm guessing that you mean that you can't get in to see one because they want to know what condition you have before they see you. You might be able to get an appointment if you send in some medical records to the endocrinologist you want to see. If you have been diagnosed with PCOS and that's in a medical record somewhere that's a good place to start. Also, I would get a copy of the lab results from your cortisol test and send that to an endocrinologist. They might still want more information before they schedule an appointment, but it should help open the door for you.

I have a problem. I have a hump on my back I have had FOREVER. Its like where my neck meets my back. My mom and dad have it and its in my family. But, it feels like it is just the way my spine curves. Could that just be it? Im pretty sure my doctors have seen it when looking at my AN..Its like, under my neck. My testerone was a little high but all my other hormones came back normal. I really dont want something else to be wrong..
