Default Can I get some help with supplements

I know I need to see a herbalist but I am trying to locate one in my area.

I am pretty sure I ovulate each month (judging by my temp and CM) and my blood test a few weeks ago showed everything was great except my test. level was high.

Any suggestions on herbal supplements I could take. I was taking maca but I can't stomach the powder and it is so hard to remember to take 15-20 pills/day.

Chromium Picolinate, Cinnamon (both will help AF and both affect blood sugar) Vitex helps to bring on AF...I have never tried it but many have had success. Dong Quai is long thought of as the womens herb and helps with all thing menstrual related. As well as black cohosh. White Peony root and licorice root combined can help reverse pcos BUT can raise blood pressure...ONCE YOU GET PREGNANT...you may have to adjust your herbs.

Good Luck!

ETA... saw palmetto lowers testosterone and helps for the acne as was as calendula(you can get it in a soap) for the acne as well.

Can you take Saw Palmetto with Metformin and other Type 2 Diabetic drugs? Also, where do you find it and how much should I take? I'm also interested in the soap for body acne and where I would find it. I am not TTC. My testosterone was 259 last time I was tested and Free Testosterone was 19.2. Trans u/s only showed impressive polycystic ovaries. They are during further testing on my adrenal glands in late October.

I get all of these things from a health food store. I wouldn't get them any where else. This way you know that they are organic, and safe and good for you.

Saw Palmetto should not affect your blood sugar...STILL advise your Dr that you are taking something new. Keep a journal and see how you feel. It takes a while for it to kick in...plan to take it for 2-4 months. It made my breasts very sore and that is common.

Depending on the amount in the capsule it would change how much of it you would take but it should say it on the bottle.

When I was TTC DD, I took Vitex (800 mg daily), red raspberry leaf (960 mg daily), a multi vitamin, folic acid (400 mcg), vitamin E and B, baby aspirin, flax seed oil (2000 mg), fish oil (1000 mg) and Metformin (1500 mg - cinnamon can be substituted). After I got my BFP, I dropped the Vitex and flax seed oil and cut back to 480 mg of RRL daily (up to 960 mg for the 2nd tri, 1440 mg for the 3rd tri).

Here's a post from a little over a year ago with some more detailed info about the supplements I took:

I decided to go to a local naturalist before ordering. Based on my blood type (O), looking at my eyes with this thing, and other stuff he said I need to get my body in order before starting supplements and worrying about getting pregnant.

For now, I am on
Suma - 2/3x day
Pro II - 2 at night on empty stomach
Female Comfort - 1/2x day
LBS II - 2 at night

He said I need to get to 2-3 bowel movements a day before moving onto other supplements. He don't see anything wrong with my female/reproductive organs right now. He just thinks I am all clogged up. I am iffy and was hoping for a "quick fix" with supplements but I guess I will follow his regimen for now and see what happens. Hardest is going to be the avoidable food list for my blood type (no more dairy........)

Wow!!! That is really restrictive. Right now, I don't think I could give up my dairy (I love to snack on cheese - and being pg, it's good for calcium and protein) or grains. I wonder how they come up with all this information.
