Angry Can I just vent, please?

Well, Cysters, I have to say I've been REALLY lucky the last year and a half, in that Spiro (200 mg per day) and a good skin care routine alternating Beta Hydroxy, 5% Benzoyl Peroxide and Retin A .25% had gotten my cystic acne under control. Until three weeks ago and I now have the WORST, biggest cyst I've ever had--RIGHT BETWEEN MY EYES! (I alternate over laughing about its location and crying.)

It angry red and hurts so much from the pressure and the surface damage, it's as big as my entire top thumb joint. I'm out of topical Erythromiacin so I ordered more off the internet, and it's not here yet. (Military medicine takes MONTHS to get a consult into dermatology, and by then it will be gone.) It's in such an embarrassing, obvious place. It's started oozing clear fluid all the time. I'm trying to be so careful with it to minimize the scarring. I think it's finally starting to heal, as it's not swollen out past my eyebrows anymore.

Why isn't it enough that I have to worry about plucking facial hairs before I go into the daylight, or feeling self-conscious about my weight, but to have this huge sore right between my eyes, too? I realize most people have better things to do than look at me, but until this thing heals I'm minimizing going out, because it IS so noticable and ugly. Sometimes I really, really hate PCOS.

Thank you for letting me vent and my heart goes out to all of you, no matter what level of skin problems you have. It's TOO many, whether it's one or a dozen.

Uggh! Sorry. I have put a bandaid over such things before. It makes me feel sooooo much better knowing that it is covered. If people ask, I would say something like, "I have a bump or a skin condition that needs to heal."

i've had some where leaving the house was no longer an option. i can totally relate to hating pcos sometimes. on bad days, i think that having pcos is bad enough without having all of these outward signs announcing it to the world.

don't feel bad if you want to cover it. anything that makes you feel better is a good thing.

Cool Thanks

I appreciate knowing I'm not the only one who has "hidden out" over something like a big cyst. Its FINALLY healed enough that make up covers most of the redness and a tiny round band aid is able to cover it.

One good side effect was that I spent some of my "exiled" time here reading the archives and ordered some "Carley's Clear & Smooth". I knew my face was too sensitive for it, but still had some body blemishes I wanted to use it on. It's GREAT. Got it on ebay (search under Carley's or acne) and the customer service was great.)

Take care, Cysters!

I completely know what you mean! I have had cycsts so bad before that I've had two surgeries! : (

But, for the big ones on the face, as soon as they get big and red and inflammed, I go to the dermatologist and have him give me a shot right in them (I don't know what the med is in the shot), but within a day or two they go right away -- and no scar! So, that's my suggestion for next time. But, you've got to get them while they are hot and infected.

Hope that helps!
