I've been on Spiro since around the 10th of August. I've been trying to give it a fair chance, but I am having stomach pains with it and extreme fatigue. I started out with only 25 mg a day and have been increasing until this week I was at 100 mg, but I could only do that for 2 days. I was completely exhausted. I tried to just go down to 75 mg, but with the stomach issues and the fact that I have Celiac (gluten intolerance) I just don't think I want to continue on it. Some of the foods that I have been living off of are high in potassium and I am so limited in what I eat anyhow due to my Celiac and tummy troubles that I think I just want to go off it and try to deal with the hair issues another way. Can I just stop taking it or do I have to taper off of it? I don't want to mess anything up, so I figured I'd ask here! Thanks!

Well...as you can see, nobody wrote me back and I was really ready to stop taking it, so I just didn't take any more!! I definitely feel much better without it, I am not nearly as fatigued and my stomach feels better, too. I don't know what I'll do about the hair issues, but I guess I'll figure that out. I may wait a few weeks and try it again to see if I have the same issues or not, but I'll have to think about it!! Good luck...if I find out anything else I'll let you know.

I saw my Dr. and she told me to just stop taking it when we were ready to conceive. So guess you can just stop taking it. But you did that already just letting you know what my doc said.

I got rid of some of the fatigue & dizziness by taking it at night.
I was on 100 mg.
When I came off to ttc, I cut the dose in half each week until I was down to 25 mg, then just quit. I didn't want my blood pressure to superspike up if I stopped suddenly.
