I am still on my last month of Marvelon 21 but wanted to start taking the Vitex (Chasteberry) that I just bought!
Is this safe?
Also, how much Vitex should I take a day? One pill?
Does it help with Acne as well....as once I get off BCP I know my face will start to break out...

Started DCI Aug 25th ...Hope this is what my body needs!!
I would have thought NOT to take them together but I know someone who does and she is not having any issues. She also discussed this with an Herbalist. and I believe Vitex has helped with acne..I personally have not seen any differences but i guess it all depends on who you ask.

Well... since the Vitex balances hormones (allowing ovulation, for one thing,) and the BCPs fool your body into thinking its pregnant, I don't think you will get the full benefits of Vitex that way. Just an opinion.
Also, when you do start using it, if the pills don't work, try a tincture. Stronger, more effective.

What is a tincture?
I only plan on taking the BCP and Vitex for the next week and half until I finish my last pill...I just wanted my body to get started on the Vitex!!
I'm excited about starting them!
