Default Can Met cause lightheadness??

Has anyone else had this as a side effect from Met?? Has anyone had side effects start up again after switching to another companies brand? I've been taking Metformin HCL 850mg(twice a day) for about a month now and have had very little side effects from it. For a couple of days after starting Met though, i seemed to get a little spacey or lightheaded around 2 or 3 in the afternoon and would last for a little while and go away. This went on for a couple of days and then stopped. I had to switch my Met prescription to another pharmacy this month and they didn't have the same brand that I've been taking, so I just started on the new brand yesterday. This afternoon around 3P I started getting that lightheaded, spacey feeling again. Could switching brands be the cause of this??

TIA!!

I wouldn't think changing brands would cause this, but you never know. Anything is possible. Could your blood sugar be dropping around this time? Have you tried a snack to see if it gets better? Just an idea. Hope everything's ok.

No clue what's going on..when it happens, I usually have just eaten within an hour before. Today I had just finished eating lunch about 20 minutes before it happened.

I've just started getting this too. I feel really light headed and like I am going to pass out.

I sopke to my doctor yesterday about this and the sickness I keep getting, she has advised that I change from 850mg twice a day to 500 three times a day, although I'm not sure if this will help.

Confused...glad to hear that I'm not the only one experiencing this. Yesterday it was better and I didn't experience it as much as the day before. We will see how it goes this afternoon. When I first started on Met 850mg twice a day, it lasted for a couple of days and then I was fine. Maybe this brand although it's the same medication it's got some slight difference to it.

Hope the 500mg 3 times a day works better for you.
