Can met delay AF when you first start?

I'm new here, so I apologize if something similar has been asked before. I was diagnosed with pcos, IR, and hypothyroid a little over a month ago and have now been on met and synthroid for a month now. I've always had irregular cycles, but have averaged 50 days for the last two years (when I started temping/tracking them) with my longest ever being 99 days. I've now been taking met for a month though and am on my longest cycle in 2 years. Is there any chance of this happening because I started taking met? It's kind of deflating to have your longest cycle ever after starting a med that's supposed to help regulate it.

I don't know. Met "fixed" me right away. But since it's supposed to be regulating all of your hormones, it could take a little longer to balance things out. If you're really uncomfortable with it, ask your doc. Maybe you need to up your dose?

I say hang in there. Your are taking synthroid, so you've got a lot going on right now with your hormones. The synthroid will take a little time and possibly some adjusting to get everything right, and the met being added in there could make things a little crazy for a while. Give your body a chance to get adjusted to all the changes, and keep in contact with your doc if things don't seem to be improving. Be patient with yourself above all...it took some time for your hormones to get out of whack, and it will take some time to get them back in line.
