Default Can Metformin Help?

Hi ladies. I'm hoping you can help answer my question. Can Metformin help regulate my cycle even if my insulin and blood hormone results came back within normal range? My RE calls my ovaries multi-follicular. I seem to have between 35-40 follies under 10mm until pretty far along in my cycle. The last two unmedicated cycles I had lasted between 37-40 days...with ovulation occuring between day 23-27. Can Metformin help? If so, what mg. dose is the most common? Thanks in advance for any feedback. I really appreciate it.

Check out the FAQ thread and scroll down to section #3 "What if I am not IR"? There is a ton of info on non-IR women and the benfits of met there.

Medical sources consider 1500 mg to be the least effective dose, but dosage really depends on how easy your hormones are to move. Most Docs have their patients work their way up gradually to 1500 mg and then look at symptoms draw bloodwork to see if things improve.

For me, some of my insulin numbers were techincally normal, but after some time on the drug (and diet and exercise), they went furtherup in the lower end of the normal ranges. So this is more normal for me.

Hope it helps!
