Default Can Rogaine CAUSE hair loss?

I started trying Rogaine in Feb, but wasn't using it regularly.
My dermatologist said my hair seemed to be getting better, so I tried using it as instructed a couple of months ago.

My hair seems to be getting much worse. I noticed it falling out more back in Feb when I first tried the Rogaine, but thought maybe it was stress.

My dermatologist also noticed that I seemed to have more hair on one side of my head than the other. NOw I think it is because I wasn't putting alot of Rogaine on the side that still had hair.

Has this happened to anyone else? I don't know if I should keep going the full 8 months that the package says ( since I"ve only been using it twice a day for the past couple of months).... I"m scared to keep going, I don't want to lose more hair, but I'm scared to stop too.

Anyone had any succes with this?

I understand that when you start Rogaine you have something called a "dread shed" which is a short period of increased hair loss, right before it starts working. So yes, people have been know to have MORE hair loss at first.

If Rogaine is going to work for you, you have to use it everyday, for the rest of your life. If you stop using it, your hair will start thinning again.

I know, it's a Catch 22.

Default Rogaine

Yes, I've also heard the same thing. The initial hair loss should be temporary though. It means your hair is shedding so the regrowth can come in. I am checking into Propecia for women now as a tip from another cyster. I know there are probably some side effects but I'm starting to get pretty desperate. Cyn

Yes I had a huge scary dread shed hairs were piling out when I started using it ,.... my derm said this wasnt the case but I would literally be covered in hairs when I was drying my hair I was so scared .... they say this is a good sigtn means teh hairs are shifting from their follciles so new stronger hairs can grow in their place ...

I hope it works for you .. in my case hte thinning is frontal and its not proven to work there .... so I have since quite after a year and a half on the stuff .. plus the hazzle of it every day ...
