I am not sure the side effects. Spiro is a potassium sparing diuretic. Which means it does not deplete your potassium like some do. However it helps some women with unwanted hair growth and balding. I think you have to take a big dose though like above 100mg. But start out low since it will/can affect your b/p. That is all I can tell you. Maybe someone else can tell you more.
I'm on a low does of Spiro for my high testosterone level. I have not noticed any side effects yet. It's a blood pressure medication that levels out hormones. It's supposed to remove excess water and sodium from your body, thereby reducing your blood pressure if excess water and sodium are causing high blood pressure. I've heard it can cause weakness, but I guess that's from the loss of water and salt and lowering of bp. I haven't noticed any difference. I go back to my doc in a few months and I hope he will up the dose. So far it does seem to have reduced my testosterone as I'm weeping at sad movies again, lol.
The right dose is supposed to lower your test. and cause your unwanted hair growth to slow and possibly stop. It hasn't helped me yet, but again I'm on a very low does that I hope will be upped in a few months. It can also possibly help acne, reduce head hairloss and make your breasts bigger.
well i just been to docs today and he put me on spiro 50mg for now so lets see how things go, no harm in trying i guess so lets see how things go, i just want to get things under control, cos i know im not gonna be able to get rid of it. But i am a bit worried cos he suspects im diabetic so having more test to confirm this - its never ending
