Will a cyst on your ovary cause your menstrual flow to be light? just wondering because i have a cyst and for some strange reason my flow is very light this time
The way I've had it explained to me is if the cyst caused you not to ovulate this month, you could have a light flow that (because it was not triggered by ovulation / progesterone levels) would not be as heavy as a normal period.

I'm suffering from a cyst right now too, but I haven't even had a period. I don't know whether it's from the cyst or not. But one of the symptoms I read on the net when I googled it was irregular menstration, as in your period would be different than it usually is.
I hope it goes away soon for you, I have been miserable for a month now.
I felt myself ovulate on the 15th of this month so i know i ovulated ...but i hurt on my left ovary usually thats the ovary i get a cyst on and my cycle is light this time normally i have a medium flow this time its enough to wear a panty liner....if i knew of a home remedy for a cyst i sure would do it..don't have the money to go to a Dr nor insurance grrrr.......
3blessings i know how you feel i sympathize with you....hope you get better soon!
I've never heard of that being the case. PCOS in general can cause you to have abnormal bleeding which can include irregular breakdown of the uterine lining... so that you may only be losing pieces of it and therefore bleeding lightly, but that is not an actual period though it may seem like one. If you know for a fact that you O'd then you should expect your period with 14-16 days of that because luteal phases do not differ as much as the beginning of a cycle (i.e. growing follies and Oing). I would say if it is under 10 days from when you felt you O'd either you didn't O or it isn't a period, but just normal PCOS stuff.

Oh i know i O'd i can always tell and my cycles are regular so i know its a real period its just the flow is lighter and i was thinking because of the cyst or maybe its not a cyst i haven't gotten it checked out but i know the last time i had a cyst it kinda felt this way.and yesterday was day 2 of my cycle and the flow is getting heavier so that relieves me somewhat
