Unhappy Can't Carry On Like This

I am struggling to go on anymore… I had an appointment with my GP this morning only to go in and see he had a medical student with him and I really couldn’t tell him what I wanted to, I tried the words would not come out…

Now I am stuck back in work and I am feeling really low, I started Mirtazapine a couple of days ago but it didn’t do anything for me except make me really hyper in the morning to mid afternoon then I would slump into being depressed and low. Steadily as time has gone on this past day or two I have got worse. So a visit today see’s him giving me another AD called Lofepramine (Gamanil) which I am to start at 70mg today and after a week increase to 140mg a day.

I can’t carry on feeling so unstable with these mood swings and such like feelings I have…

I just feel so down I can’t tell you how I was feeling at lunch time and what thoughts passed through my head it scares the hell out of me…

I'm sorry you're hurting so much...

Would it be possible to put in words via email what you wanted to tell your doctor, and then send it to the office?

Maybe call ahead of time, and tell the nurse that you are worried about how you are currently feeling, and need to get this message to the doctor, and would like to know what you can do TODAY to start to feel better.

((hugs)) Im sorry you are feeling so low. I can only imagine the guts you have to tell the dr exactly what you are feeling only to find a student with him. It would have thrown me too.

I agree with Kat, either put it in an email, or write it down in a letter, so that when you next see your GP you can just give him the letter. Do you see a counsellor?

(hugs) and thinking of you

I do see a Community Psychiatric Nurse at the moment my last appointment was last week and I am seeing her again end of March…

I thought about writing it down… it would make it easier.

Thanks for the advice…

If you've thought about writing it all down, it can be helpful, especially if you only see someone to talk to once in awhile. If anything it can be a good way to track your moodswings so when and if they ask about it you can show them.

Hi,

I started another topic the day after I did this...

I Reached My Breaking Point

Things kind of took a turn for the worse, but now I see an upside and my story is out...

I try not to come into the depression threads much being that I have suffered depression for the last three years ... reading your post is like reading about my life .... I have suffered low moods on and off for years but only recently (with the diagnosis of hair loss from PCOS) have I fallen apart and have TERRIBLE thoughts suicidal on and off constantly .... I admire you for taking the bull by the horns your helping yourself .. it takes hard work and guts to do something when you feel like you do. ..

Hang in there ... x

Thank you Sally.... I have to admit it feels better to have been honest now, doesn't make the mood swings dissappear... or the thoughts but I am controlling them at least until I get my appointments through!

Thinking of you xx
