Default Can't take the symptoms any more

Hi there,
I'm 29 years old and have been dealing with hypothyroidism for 5 years now. It came on after I had my 5th child. I just went off my meds. for a short amount of time because I kept forgetting to get it refilled. My numbers went from 2 to 56 in about a 2 month period. My symptoms are very bad. Tried, sick feeling, cold, loss of app., Depression and very bad anxiety that hit me hard. I have lost weight. I'm getting warm tigaling down my arms and sometimes legs and feel light headed. I went to my End yesterday and she said that these are all normal thing that can happen when your levels drop so fast. Anyone else dealt with this? They have me on synthoid 137 and Cytomel 5 mg twice a day to get my levels back to normal faster. My doctor said I'll get back to normal in a few weeks but I just feel so alone and scared by the way my body feels right now.

Barrettsark, just my 2 cents, but I think the dr. could offer you more cytomel. The t3 is the active form of the thyroid hormone, and a higher amount (considering your 2 month deficiency) would not likely pose any problem to your heart, which is what drs. get nervous about when you get the t3. Taking both is good, because you are slowly building your t4 stores while your body uses the t3 today. Ask the dr. if you can take more cytomel and maybe less synthroid, at least til things get back to regular! Be sure to mention how miserable you've been feeling.

So glad you're on the right track! Good you found out about the Lyme disease and are getting treated for that too.
