Default Can't take Yasmin, what about YAZ?

A year ago (when the PCOS stuff started happening) I tried a ton of different bcps. they allllll gave me migraines every day that i would take them. My new dr thinks that I NEED bcps because my testosterone is super high and the free t is like 8.2 (range 0.1-6.2).

I am scared of taking the pills because it can cause hair loss if you take hormones and then stop, or just start at all. My hair is half gone already and I am supppperrr hairy so I agree that I need the estrogen/sbhg to combat the testosterone.

Also, i have NO progesterone. It was coming back as LESS THAN the lab was able to read and my estrogen was only like 59.

With all that info, do you think I should try it? The doc said Yaz only has .20 estradiol and yasmin has .35 so it may have less of the migraine side effects...

I was so hesistant to take Yaz, but I have stuck it out and I am feeling great! My greatest complaint was nausea and dizziness. My breasts were also so sore. My doctor did tell me that alot of women can't tolerate the Yasmin, but do fine on the Yaz. Good luck.

I was on Yasmin 4-5 years ago and started getting migraines towards the end. A couple weeks ago my midwife put me on Yaz. 10 days later, I got my first migraine in years (since I stopped the Yaz) and I've been spotting for 2 weeks. I stopped taking it and am restarting my Seasonale today.
