I'm trying to go thru all these threads and make sense of it all and it's hard, can you please just give a brief update. How many adoptions, if your in the process, what type, etc. Thanks so much and oh yeah if you got pictures or anything like that, would be cool to. Maybe we can do this ever so often

Braxton just turned 1.
We are thinking of starting the adoption process again really soon. Where the Lord leads us but I have a tugging of China on the heart. Although you know the last time we started this came along Braxton so who knows what's in store for us. Just wanted to let ya all know.
So excited to hear from everyone.

Hi Lisa! I'm so excited that you're still interested in China!!!!
We're still waiting (please don't let that discourage you). We've been LID for 11 1/2 months & it's looking like we'll get our referral closer to April w/ travel around June (since we couldn't be in China for Christmas, I'm hoping we're there for my birthday!). So I'm just trying to keep busy w/ this long wait...
That's about it for me. Can't wait to hear from everyone else, great idea!

Yay Lisa! Glad to hear you moving on to number three.. and maybe China finally
We're doing a Chinese SN adoption. We actually leave next week to get our little Isabelle! We started the HS process in February and found our daughter on our agency's WC list in March. So from start to finish for us it will be... 9 months!! Imagine that eh?

Well I have my Jessica who will be 11 next month. You know her story, I think!
Emily is 3 1/2 and has been home for 3 years in February. Katie is 1 1/2 and January will be 1 year that she has been home. It's hard to believe she's only been with us less than a year as it seems like she was with me FOREVER!!
I think you know how highly I think of the China program, and my agency in particular. I know this long wait is very discouraging but it's so worth it in the end. I get unbelievable joy from all 3 of my girls and if I had looked at China closer to my 30th bday I'd have even more kids!! I'm done now though. And I finally feel like my little family is complete and life is moving forward finally.
On a side note, Lisa, you may not know about my hubby. He is leaving next month for a 3 month training in Indiana followed by a yearlong tour in Afghanistan. It's not going to be a very fun year ahead for me but I'm trying to stay cheery. It's tough, but I'm trying.
Hugs to all. Here's a recent pic of my 3: (ETA: Katie is much happier than that photo makes her look! lol)

We're still waiting for our little one to be born. Not much longer only about 3 months.
I've not talk to our pbmom for about 2-3 weeks. I got an email from her bf last night saying that he'd like to met us.
I tried to call them last night but just got the machine.

Husband (37)
Son (2 1/2 year)
hello as i posted before i have legal custody of my 3 month old neice allie i had her since she was a week old. child services came to see us today and told me that i'll be able to adopt her when she's 15 months old well she has to be living with me for 15 months. they also told me i have the option of returning custody over to them until the adoption is finial that way i don't have to pay for the adoption. she will still live with me and i will still make all her decisions and everthing it's just so they can terminate the mother's rights and all. i still have to take classes and everything but it's not a big deal. so that's the 411 here. as soon as i figure out how to post a pic on here i will....
DH and I are in process to adopt two kids from two different countries.
Jayden is almost 12 months and is waiting in Guatemala. We are in PGN, which is the last court. Once we're out we'll be able to travel to get him a few weeks later. We've been waiting to get out for a loooonnnngggg time. Hopefully it won't be much longer.
Lillian is 7 1/2 and is waiting in Liberia. Her case is in Liberian court. We think we might be able to bring her home somewhere around January. Lillian is deaf, so we are learning ASL.
That's about it. You can see pics on our family website at www.freewebs.com/whitmirefamily (I can't seem to get the pictures to load here).

Rachel! I am beyond excited that there ia another cyster adopting from Liberia!!!!!!!!
Our Liberian Adoption is complete and we are working on the Canadian visa processing part of it. We have had a little wrench thrown in though. We are considering adopting our son's almost 8 year old sister as well. If we do that, we have to wait to go pick up our son until we bring both of them. Our province has a law that you cannot have 2 placements within 12 months of each other, so we either get them both or wait another year. And we think that if we do adopt her, it's much better to get her at 8 than 10. We are trying hard to decide what is best for everyone.
I love reading all these updates.

God does not call the qualified. He qualifies the called.
We had our last home visit on Monday and now the agency has to complete the reports and then on December 1st we can try to get a court date for finalization!!!! I can't wait to have the whole legal stuff behind us! Katherine is now 21 lbs! She's a BIG girl. She's such a little angel. She's doing something new it seems every week. She also thinks I'm the funniest person on the planet. I spend most of my day trying to crack her up. Love love love it when she giggles.

Luke is nearly three---how did time fly by so quickly??? He's been home with us since he was 4 days old, so we are approaching that 3 year mark as well.
Ella is 8 months old.
We don't think our family is complete just yet but we're not sure how to complete it. If the Lord wants us to have another child (or two!), then He will help us figure out what to do. If we do go the adoption route again (we had such an awesome experience that I would do it again in a heartbeat), we'll wait until we're stateside, which will be next November. We'll just have to wait and see what happens.

Well our son has been home for 3 1/2 years now (hard to believe!). He is now 4 yrs. old and in his second year of preschool. He's doing really well. So much so that when he was evaluated a few weeks ago, they said he was already ready for kindergarten. (maybe he is, but Mommy's not )
We started the process to do foster to adopt through our local DCFS about 2 months ago. Well we got our clearances back and there was an issue that is more than 10 years old. So we had to write a statement saying it was one time and it never happened again (nor will it EVER happen again). Mind you it has NOTHING to do with children, but we are not on hold because of it. So basically we have to wait and see if the state board (where the statement went) will approve or deny us continuing on the adoption road. Even if we are approved, that doesn't mean we can adopt. We still have to take the classes and pass a homestudy.
So that's our update.

We finally received our 171H and inching our way closer to a LID in China. My little guy keeps me busy so I don't have too much time to think about it.
